Here's Lacey just one day after surgery....how 'bout a 10' ladder for an entrance to your bedroom? Totally rad!







Here's a pic of the new floor joists that were built over the top of the old stairs.















Super Dave pulling up a sheet of sure floor....er-hum....there were 9 total! Whew.

























And of course, our project manager Boots Pierce and Project Field Supervisor, Dolly Ann Marie Pierce are, as usual, "on the job".















We had to hire a security guard to make sure Lacey didn't sleep walk and fall out of her room in the middle of the night. That's the chap right there....his name is Sox Lindeman.













And here he is again, double checking to make sure nobody comes up the ladder in our unsecured state. And the next pic he is at his post scanning the area for wayward cats, dogs, or other critters.















What did the last joist say to the rest of the joists on the floor? Ha! I told you I'd be the last man standing!

More of the upper level exposed. This was our old stairwell. Nothing left but the old floor joists.








Memories....ahhh, at last the old stairwell is nothing more than an old picture, a faded memory......it's gone forever, but shall forever remain in our hearts and the scars from removing the beast shall forever remain upon my hands.....that's right folks....I said MY hands! Yeah....can you guess who ripped that bad boy out of there?















This is why when Super Dave is in town, one does not rush in with the dust rag! He really knows how to mess a place up!

Okay, now we are talking serious stuff here. All the floor joists have been removed and the entire upper floor is G-O-N-E!

Dave Conquered the Chimney!

Well, as we were preparing to install the new floor upstairs and bring everything to ONE level as opposed to three levels, we realized the remaining portion of the old chimney must come out. We thought we were going to cave the roof in, but thanks to SUPER DAVE all is well at the Pierce 1896 Folk Victorian Mansion "and" the chimney is GONE! It felt like an atomic explosion in the living room, but alas all is well and the dust is mostly settled.

This is the new linen closet in the master bath ....shelves aren't in just yet.












And then we have the frame for the jet spa tub. Which we have in now and might I say it's yummy! Absolutely wonderful!
